We have prepared a brief description of the NY County website to assist members in signing in and navigating the site.

The following menus and submenus are viewable by the Public (all visitors to the website):

• Resources
• Classifieds

There is also a special menu that can be viewed only by Registered members who are logged in to the website. All members of the NYC District branch are included in the website database and are considered Registered Members.  If you are not showing up as a member, you can contact the DB office (email: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or phone: 212-685-9633) for assistance.

To login into nycpsych.org (the login module is at the top of the page):

• Your username is based on your first and last names, and is configured as FirstnameLastname. Please note there is no space between Firstname and Lastname. Your username is not case sensitive.
• Your password is your APA number.

Once you are logged into the site, you will notice a new menu named FOR MEMBERS. This menu and the submenus are visible to Registered members only.

• Member Profile: Your editable profile.
• NYCPsych Blog: A blog by several members of the NYC District Branch
• Recommendations: a blog with recommendations from members. Instructions for submitting material will follow.
• Member Directory: A listing of all members of the NYC District Branch. It can be viewed only by other registered members.
• Public Directory: A directory that will soon be made available to the public. You must OPT IN for your profile to be included in the Public Directory.
• Member Forum: a forum for registered members only. In addition to several forum topics, each committee has a page which can be viewed only by members of that committee.
• Documents: Documents of interest to members can be viewed and uploaded here.

To view and edit your profile:

• Log in to the website
• Go to FOR MEMBERS -> Member Profile
• Click the EDIT bar at the top of the profile for the following options:
  • Update your profile: The information you include in your profile will be visible by all members of the NYC District Branch. Each field on the form has an icon to the right indicating if that field is included in the directory.
    • You can change your password here.
    • Show In Public Directory - Show/Hide: if you want your profile information to be included in the Public Directory – select Show
  • Update your photo: upload a photo, maximum 200 pixels wide by 500 pixels high
  • Remove image
