Committee Page - Group, Family and Couples Therapy This committee is set up to promote the techniques of Group therapy in training of residents and attending psychiatrists which will serve the patient population of our district and the larger community. Included in this committee will be the connected work of Couples and Family Therapy as well as the subset of patients who require Sex Therapy.
Our mission statement is to promote the techniques and theory of Group Therapy in our Psychiatric Community for application in long term, short term, psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, and interpersonal groups with families, couples and individuals.
The structure is to share experiences in conducting group and family therapy, teaching group and family therapy in hospital training centers, and collaborating with national and international organizations dedicated to this work.
We will endeavor to meet once a month for a warm get together with our group and experience the power of the group in our work with our patients and in our own lives as therapists.
